President of The Education University of Hong Kong Leads Delegation to Visit Guangdong University of Technology



  On the morning of May 8, Professor Lee Chi-kin, President of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), led a delegation to visit Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT). Professor Qiu Xueqing, President of GDUT, met with the guests in Conference Room 702 of the Administration Building at the Higher Education Mega Center Campus. The two sides held discussions focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship education, industry-university-research cooperation, and exchanges between teachers and students. The meeting was attended and presided over by Professor Du Chengming, Member of the CPC GDUT Committee and Vice President of GDUT.

 

  Professor Qiu Xueqing extended a warm welcome to the EdUHK delegation. He introduced GDUT’s development history, talent cultivation, scientific research and innovation, and discipline development. He noted that EdUHK boasts distinctive strengths in education-related disciplines, and both sides have laid a solid foundation for cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship exchanges. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further expand cooperation in teacher-student exchange programs, industry-university-research collaboration, and the construction of innovation and practice bases, so as to achieve complementary disciplinary advantages and contribute to the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

 Professor Lee Chi-kin thanked GDUT for its warm reception. He acknowledged GDUT’s outstanding strengths in engineering disciplines and expressed the intention of leveraging the respective advantages of both institutions to carry out cooperation in cultivating innovative talents for interdisciplinary studies and integrating industry with education, thereby actively aligning with the overall national development strategy. Following the meeting, the EdUHK delegation visited the GDUT Innovation Hub and conducted research and exchanges at the School of Management on the Longdong Campus.

 

 

 The meeting was also attended by heads of the Faculty Affairs Department, the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of GDUT.
