In 2019, the scientific research funding of GDUT exceeded one billion RMB, which was nearly 1.5 times of 2016. During the past four years, over 100 National Natural Science Foundation projects have been undertaken by GDUT, ranking 59th among Chinese universities. For the past three years, our university ranked 35th among Chinese universities for the number of authorized patents. Since 2019, GDUT has undertaken 5 national key research and development projects (funding: more than 100 million) and 20 R&D projects in key areas with leading enterprises in Guangdong Province (funding: nearly 200 million RMB funding). In the past five years, we have won 3 national science and technology awards, 12 ministerial, provincial and municipal-level awards, and 6 China Outstanding Patent Awards, ranking at the forefront of Guangdong Province.
