In December 29, 2025, 2025 International Young Scholars Forum was grandly opened in GDUT. Bai Jiangang, secretary of the CPC GDUT Committee, and Guo Tingjian, deputy director of the Scientific Research Department of the Provincial Department of Education, attended the main forum. Heads of relevant administrative departments, colleges and representatives of young talents attended the meeting. Nearly 400 young talents from various countries and regions around the world signed up for the conference, and nearly 4,000 people watched the live webcast online. The main forum was presided over by Du Chengming, member of the Standing Committee of CPC GDUT Committee and vice president.
On behalf of the university, Bai Jiangang extended a warm welcome to the participating experts and scholars and young talents online and offline. In particular, he mentioned that the election of Professor Chen Xin as the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, the first one independently trained by the university, is a vivid embodiment of the university's scientific and technological innovation and talent strategic achievements. After the main forum, 23 sub-forums were held in various colleges. At the sub-forum, the person in charge of the college introduced the development of the college and disciplines in detail, had in-depth exchanges with young scholars on cutting-edge academic progress, research results and personal development plans, and initially got the talents’ recognition.
