Recently, the 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area College Basketball Invitational Tournament took place in the gymnasium of Higher Education Mega Center Campus of GDUT. This competition was sponsored by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance, guided by the Division of Sports Health and Art Education of Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, and hosted by GDUT. The basketball teams of eight universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao were invited for the competition. Through cultural exchange activities, the friendship ties between students in the three places were tightened, and the integration of sports and culture in Greater Bay Area was strengthened.
With its profound basketball heritage and tenacious fighting spirit, the host "Guangdong Lions Team" of GDUT successfully won the championship. Sun Yat-sen University and Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education won the second and third place respectively.
During the competition, the participating teams visited the School Museum of GDUT.
