University of East Anglia and Global Education Group visit GDUT

On November 3rd, Steve McGuire, Vice President and Senior Provost of the University of East Anglia, and Stephen Laycock, Vice Dean of the School of Science, visited GDUT. Du Chengming, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC GDUT Committee and Vice President, met with the visiting delegation.

Du Chengming briefly introduced that in recent years, through personnel training, international cooperation, deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and Industry-University-Research, GDUT has trained a large number of high-quality applied talents, promoted the transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements, and provided strong support for industrial upgrading and enterprise development in Greater Bay Area. At the same time, he shared the progress of joint program with the University of East Anglia, hoping to conduct extensive cooperation with each other in students and teacher exchanges, scientific research cooperation, etc. in the future.

Steve McGuire thanked GDUT for its warm reception, and introduced the University of East Anglia from the aspects of school location, ranking, innovation and entrepreneurship, international cooperation, etc. He said that the two universities have similar discipline development backgrounds, and hoped to further deepen cooperation with GDUT in the future, expand the scale of students in existing projects, and enhance the level of cooperation in joint training projects.

During the visit, the delegation met with the freshmen of the international joint program of the School of Computer Science and the School of Art and Design respectively.

Recently, Mr. Jeroen Prinsen, Asia-Pacific Business Director of British Global Education Group (QS), and Ms. Duan Xiaoyang, Director of South China, visited GDUT. Yu Lin, vice president of GDUT, met with the guests. At the meeting, Mr. Jeroen Prinsen, on behalf of the UK Global Education Group (QS), presented the 2026 QS Asian University Rankings "University Performance Improvement Award" to GDUT. As the only university in South China to win this honor, the progress of comprehensive strength of GDUT has been highly recognized in recent years.
