Professor Zhang Hui of GDUT was elected as International Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering

 

          On May 15, 2025, the election of new fellows of The Canadian Academy of Engineering in 2025 was officially announced. A total of 50 new fellows and 7 international fellows were elected. Professor Zhang Hui (full-time distinguished professor) from the School of Light Industry and Chemical Engineering of GDUT was elected as an international fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.

   Professor Zhang Hui has achieved a number of pioneering achievements in the research fields of powder coatings, micro-nano particle functionalization, micro-nano functional coating materials and technologies, and has trained more than 100 master's, doctoral and postdoctoral students (more than 20 students now under his supervision at GDUT), has published more than 200 papers and authorized with more than 30 invention patents in the United States, Europe and China. Many of the patented technologies have achieved industrial scale production in the United States, Canada and China.
