According to the latest data from the Essential Science Indicators Database (ESI) on May 8, 2025, Materials Science and Computer Science of GDUT have successfully entered into the top 1 ‰ of ESI's global rankings.
So far, nine disciplines of GDUT, including engineering, materials science, computer science, chemistry, environmental science and ecology, agronomy, general social science, biology and biochemistry, and earth science, have entered the top 1% of ESI global disciplines, of which three disciplines have entered 1 ‰ (with engineering entered the top 0.3 ‰). GDUT ranked 578th in the ESI comprehensive ranking, 55 places higher than the previous period (ranking 67th among universities in mainland China).
