Chen Yongguang, Secretary of the CPC Wenzhou Institute of Technology Committee, visited GDUT

 

On April 22nd, Chen Yongguang, Secretary of the CPC Wenzhou Institute of Technology Committee, led a delegation to visit GDUT. Qiu Xueqing, president of GDUT, met with guests. The two sides held discussions and exchanges on topics such as innovation and entrepreneurship, integration of industry and education, training of engineering talents, and characteristic development of local universities. Zhu Weiwei, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, and relevant responsible persons of the CPC Committee Office, President's Office, Development Planning Office, Science and Technology Management Office, Academic Affairs Office, Network Information and Modern Educational Technology Center and other units attended the discussion.

 

 Qiu Xueqing welcomed the Mr. Chen and his delegation, and introduced the school's experience in running schools, personnel training, discipline construction and social services. He emphasized that GDUT takes the construction of "first-class" as the goal, implements the "1 +2 +3" climbing plan, and serves the needs of the country, the industry of the Bay Area and the development of Guangdong with its strength, and strives to write a "Guanggong Chapter" of the integrated development of educational, scientific and technological talents. He said that Wenzhou Institute of Technology is rooted in regional culture, has distinctive features in innovation and entrepreneurship education, and has made important contributions in serving regional development and industrial transformation. The two universities are both local universities with distinctive regional characteristics. It is expected that the two sides will strengthen cooperation and exchanges, and jointly promote the connotative development of both sides.

Chen Yongguang introduced the situation of Wenzhou Institute of Technology, as well as its main practices in serving the local economy and cultivating innovative talents. He said that in the characteristic innovation and development of local colleges and universities, GDUT has experiences worth learning in terms of development concepts, mechanisms and innovation drive.

The two sides also conducted exchanges and discussions on topics such as collaborative education between government, schools and enterprises, and cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents.
