On April 14th, the final of the 16th National Mathematics Competition for College Students ended successfully in Zhejiang Normal University. This competition is sponsored by Chinese Mathematical Society and hosted by Zhejiang Mathematical Society and Zhejiang Normal University. Since its launch in May 2024, the competition has attracted more than 320,000 students from 1,223 universities across the country, and 1,254 students from 352 universities have entered the finals. Guided by the Academic Affairs Office, the School of Mathematics and Statistics mobilized a total of 2,832 students to participate in the preliminary competition, ranking seventh in the country in terms of the number of participants. GDUT also set up an excellent teacher training team. After a series of selection, seven students from GDUT reached the finals, ranking second in Guangdong province. In the final, two students won the national third prize for mathematic major and five students won the national third prize for non-mathematic major. At the same time, GDUT won the first prize of Excellent University Organization Award.
