On November 22-24, the FISU College 3 on 3 Basketball World Cup was held in Xiamen Campus of Huaqiao University. As a FIBA A-level event, this event is officially certified by FIBA, and only after that of the Olympic Games and FIBA Masters. 24 teams from 18 countries and regions on five continents participated, including 12 men's teams and 12 women's teams. As the champion team of the 6th Asian College Students 3 on 3 Basketball Championship, GDUT Men's Basketball Team represented the Asian area to play in this event.
The men's basketball team of GDUT competed fiercely with The University of Canterbury from New Zealand, American University in Cairo from Egypt, Paulista University from Brazil, Nantes University from France and other participating teams, and finally won the fourth place in the World Cup, setting a new record for the men's basketball team of GDUT in the world series.
