The President of Heriot-Watt University visited GDUT


On September 12, Richard Williams, President of Heriot-Watt University in the UK, Neil Dunse, Director of Internationalization of the School of Energy, Earth Sciences, Infrastructure and Society, Mike Bates, Director of Admissions, and Wang Zhongyi, Director of the China and East Asia Office, visited GDUT. President Qiu Xueqing met with the guests.

 

 

Qiu Xueqing welcomed the guests, and outlined the latest developments in recent years from the aspects of talent training, scientific research, innovation and entrepreneurship, hoping to further promote joint student training and teacher scientific research cooperation. He pointed out that it is necessary to strengthen the construction of the joint training double-degree program between the two universities, and at the same time, focusing on promoting the program with both undergraduate and master degree combined, and expand the cooperation to more colleges.

Richard Williams expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, introduced the development status of Heriot-Watt University, and looked forward to taking advantage of the school's international influence and multi-campus advantages to carry out in-depth multi-level student training and academic cooperation with GDUT to enhance graduates' employment competitiveness.

After the meeting, the delegation of Heriot-Watt University visited the School of International Education and met and exchanged views with the students of the joint training program.
