On September 1st, the founding ceremony of Vancouver Alumni Association of GDUT was successfully held. Jia Jinghua and Cui Mimi, consuls of the Chinese Embassy in Vancouver, and representatives of alumni associations of many universities from Greater Bay Area attended the event. Representatives from various universities in Vancouver gathered together to witness the establishment of Vancouver Alumni Association of Guangdong University of Technology. Vancouver Alumni Association is the first overseas alumni association established by GDUT. It is chaired by alumni Li Zhiqiang and brings together outstanding alumni from all walks of life.
Chen Zhuowu, deputy secretary of the CPC GDUT Committee and president of the Alumni Association, delivered a video speech. He extended sincere greetings to all alumni who studied, worked and lived in Vancouver, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to alumni for their long-term concern and support for the development of their alma mater and their strong support for the establishment of Vancouver Alumni Association. He said that alumni are valuable resources and an important force for the development of the school. As a warm home for alumni, GDUT will continue to support the development of alumni associations and attach importance to the platform construction of alumni associations. As the first overseas alumni association of GDUT, Vancouver Alumni Association is a milestone and will surely inject new vitality and impetus into the high-quality development of the school. At the same time, he hoped that the Vancouver Alumni Association would work pioneeringly and creatively, build a bridge of friendship between China and Canada, strengthen the communication between alumni, close the ties between alumni and their alma mater, and contribute to the construction of a shared future between China and Canada.
