In order to thoroughly study and implement the relevant national strategy, the 2024 Development Strategy Seminar of Talent Development Strategy Research Institute of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area was held at GDUT on August 20. With the theme of "Building a New Highland for Talent Gathering and Promoting High-quality Development in the Bay Area", the seminar focused on education, science and technology, and talents, exploring to build a new pattern of talent development in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area, strengthening the support of modern talents, and creating a first-class mechanism and environment for attracting and cultivating talents.
Qiu Xueqing pointed out that the Talent Development Strategy Research Institute of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area has settled in GDUT, which is an important practice to fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and conscientiously implement the deployment requirements of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government to promote the construction of a high-level talent highland in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area. It is also an important measure to further promote the innovation-driven strategy and the strategy of strengthening the province with talents, and provide strong theoretical support and think tank service guarantee for the province's talent work. It is a major event in the development of GDUT. As the "eldest son" of provincial science and engineering universities, GDUT always regards serving the national strategy as its highest pursuit, and puts talent work in an important position in the development of the school. GDUT seizes the great opportunity of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area construction, vigorously implements the "1 +2 +3" climbing and supporting plan discipline promotion project, strides forward towards the goal of a high-level innovative university with distinctive features, domestic forefront and world-renowned university, and gradually forms a good ecology for all kinds of talents. Next, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Institute of Talent Development Strategy will brainstorm ideas and produce more good results in talent work and new think tank construction, so as to provide solid talent guarantee and intellectual support for talent development in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area.
The meeting also held the appointment ceremony of the academic committee of the institute and the board of directors of the institute.
