On July 12th, Cheng Daxin, member of the Provincial Education Working Committee, member of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Department of Education Committee and deputy director of the Provincial Department of Education, surveyed the national innovation and entrepreneurship education base of GDUT. Hu Qintai, secretary of the CPC GDUT Committee, and Zhang Xueli, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC GDUT Committee and deputy school-level cadre, accompanied the survey.
On behalf of GDUT, Hu Qintai extended a warm welcome to Cheng Daxin's visit. He said that GDUT is the "eldest son" of provincial key universities and engineering universities. Under the leadership of the Provincial Department of Education, it has always adhered to the fundamental task of cultivating people with virtue, regarded talent cultivation as the starting point and the goal of all the efforts, and continuously upgraded the environmental conditions of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Base in an all-round way and enhanced its connotation, providing superior environment and conditions for students' innovation and entrepreneurship education. Through exploration and practice, a new ecology of cultivating top-notch innovative and entrepreneurial talents and a new model of integrating industry and education in Chuangxiang Society by GDUT and Huawei have been formed. Students are encouraged to empower rural industries, ecology and talent revitalization with innovation and entrepreneurship achievements, and innovation and entrepreneurship education are constantly polished as shining business cards. Zhang Xueli made a detailed report on the concept, path and effect of cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talents in GDUT.
Cheng Daxin spoke highly of the distinctive "GDUT Model" of innovative and entrepreneurial education talents training, and believed that this model had played an exemplary and leading role in the province, which was worth learning for other colleges and universities. He said that GDUT's innovation and entrepreneurship education "faces industry and educates people in actual environment", promotes the organic combination of talent chain and industrial chain, closely follows industrial development trends and economic and social development needs, and strives to cultivate high-quality innovative talents urgently needed by the industry, all of which have greatly enhanced students' employment competitiveness and achieved high-quality employment for students. The "Entrepreneurship Hand in Hand Program" gives full play to the resources of successful entrepreneurial alumni, provides one-on-one assistance and guidance, and helps students start their own businesses with high quality. GDUT Constantly explore the innovative mode of talent cultivation, actively practice the creative characteristic class mode of "interest-driven, independent planning and characteristic cultivation", the creative evergreen class mode with in-depth guidance of national high-level talents, and the creative innovation class mode with deep integration with industry to cultivate students' ability to solve complex engineering and stranglehold industrial problems. GDUT also encourages students' innovation and entrepreneurship teams to join in rural revitalization, and efficiently promotes the "Double Hundred Action" campaign.
