First Innovation and Entrepreneurship Workshop for Secondary School Students from Hong Kong

 

At the invitation of Dr. Lin Dahui, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hong Kong Lin Dahui Middle School, GDUT held a unique innovation and entrepreneurship workshop for teachers and students from Hong Kong Lin Dahui Middle School. This is the first cross-border innovation and entrepreneurship education cooperation between GDUT and Hong Kong secondary school. On July 4th, teachers and students of Lin Dahui Middle School in Hong Kong started a one-day wonderful journey of innovative practice experience in GDUT. Zhang Xueli, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and deputy school-level cadre, met with teachers and students of Lin Dahui Middle School at Innovation Hub, a national innovation and entrepreneurship education practice base.

 

First of all, Zhang Xueli extended a warm welcome to the teachers and students, introduced the the history and development of GDUT, and focused on its latest developments in discipline construction, personnel training, social services, innovation and entrepreneurship, etc., and told the glorious practice of teachers and students of GDUT participating in constructing East water supply line from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, emphasizing national interests first.

 

 

In the national innovation and entrepreneurship education and practice base, the students visited the top-notch innovative talent cultivation area, Chuangxiang Innovation Class, Entrepreneurship Nursery, Huawei Kunpeng & Shengteng Developer Chuangxiang Society and other areas, and had a warm exchange and interaction with college students, observed college students' science and technology projects and achievements at close range, and experienced hard technology.

 

The core members of Borui Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., the benchmark entrepreneurial team incubated in GDUT Innovation Hub, gave a wonderful lecture on drone science to the students around the flight principle, basic structure and application fields of drones. In the practical operation of drone flight, the students tried basic operations such as take-off, landing and hovering under the guidance of college students.

In the Integrated Circuit Professional Cognitive Experience Hall, the students not only gained an in-depth understanding of the development history of chips, but also had a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the manufacturing process and application prospects of integrated circuits.

In the engineering training center, the students walked into the training rooms of VR + AI technology and laser processing, and got to know advanced manufacturing equipment such as VR (virtual reality) and AI (artificial intelligence) technology, 3D printing technology, metal and non-metal laser cutting machines.

This innovation and entrepreneurship workshop was jointly organized by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and with the joint support of the Experimental Teaching Department and the School of Integrated Circuits, which provided the first popular science education for middle school students from Hong Kong. It is an important measure for GDUT to comprehensively promote the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area's innovation and entrepreneurship base and serve the development of regional innovation and entrepreneurship education. It is also one of the important drives of GDUT's integration into the construction and development of the Great Bay Area.
