GDUT signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Provincial Emergency Management Department, and the Guangdong Hazardous Chemicals Safety Technology Research Base was officially unveiled


On March 20th, Guangdong University of Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Guangdong Emergency Management Department, and held the unveiling ceremony of Guangdong Hazardous Chemicals Safety Technology Research Base, deepening the cooperation between GDUT and government, and promoting the improvement of scientific and technological support capacity for safe production in Guangdong Province through scientific and technological innovation. Hu Qintai, Secretary of CPC GDUT Committee, Qiu Xueqing, President, and Wang Zaihua, Secretary of CPC Committee and Director of the Provincial Emergency Management Department attended the ceremony.


"This strategic cooperation is an important measure to thoroughly implement the spirit of the National People's Congress in 2024 and implement the work related to high-quality development in Guangdong Province. It is to promote the development of new productivity according to local conditions, enhance the scientific research and innovation capabilities of emergency management and safe production, and serve the society",  Hu Qintai said in his speech that Guanggong always regards serving the country as its highest pursuit, conscientiously implements the "1310" specific deployment of the provincial CPC Committee, accelerates the "1 +2 +3" climbing plan, and strives to build a training base for innovative and entrepreneurial talents in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, so as to serve the construction of Guangdong's modern industrial system with scientific and technological innovation. Hu Qintai hopes that both sides can stick to the initial intention of cooperation and maintain the correct development direction, strengthen top-level design and promote cooperation in a solid and steady manner; and improve communication and coordination, establish a scientific consultation mechanism. Both sides should continuously strengthen cooperation and exchanges in the field of hazardous chemicals safety technology research, and jointly promote the emergency management work in our province to a new level.


Wang Zaihua pointed out that the Provincial Emergency Management Department always adheres to the people's supremacy and life's supremacy, makes overall plans for high-quality development and high-level safety, and makes every effort to prevent and resolve major safety risks. While carrying out in-depth investigation and rectification of major hidden dangers and compacting the responsibilities of all parties, it has been committed to promoting the application of artificial intelligence, big data, Internet of Things and other technologies in the field of safety production, and is committed to building technical support and expert alliances of scientific research institutions. The Provincial Emergency Management Department will work with Guangdong University of Technology to deepen the integration of production, learning, research and application, jointly build a high-level scientific research and innovation base, and jointly promote the development of safety emergency industry in our province. It is hoped that GDUT will continue to give full play to its advantages in scientific research, talents and resources, actively promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements in the field of emergency management, and continuously provide important support for improving the scientific, intelligent and refined level of emergency management.

According to the agreement, the two sides will establish a long-term, close and stable strategic cooperative relationship, strengthen cooperation and resource integration around expert service, platform construction, scientific and technological innovation and personnel training, give full play to the advantages of scientific research and talents of schools, and jointly build scientific and technological platforms such as research centers and laboratories to promote the innovative and high-quality development of emergency management science and technology in Guangdong.
