On February 26th, the first day of the new semester, Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT) held a meeting to implement the spirit of the provincial high-quality development conference and the 2024 work conference of GDUT in the lecture hall, focusing on the theme of high-quality development, comprehensively and thoroughly implementing the requirements of the provincial high-quality development conference, summarizing the past work, analyzing the situation and arranging main tasks, and gathering great strength for the high-quality connotative development of GDUT.
Hu Qintai, the secretary of CPC GDUT Committee, made a work report entitled "Concentrate on the goal, Climb Bravely, and Write a New Answer Sheet for High-quality Development with the High-quality Education", which comprehensively summarized the work of the CPC GDUT Committee in 2023. He pointed out that in the past year, GDUT carried out in-depth education on the theme of studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, comprehensively promoted the discipline upgrading project of the "1 +2 +3" climbing and supporting plan, and successfully held a series of activities for the 65th anniversary of undergraduate education. Under the guidance of the new achievements of theme education, all undertakings ushered in new development, the spirit of unity and hard work was more high-spirited, and the ability of personnel training to improve quality and efficiency and serve the national and local economy and society was significantly improved.
Qiu Xueqing pointed out in his work report entitled "Writing a New Chapter in the Construction of a High-level Innovative University with Endeavour" that in the past year, the quality of personnel training in schools has been steadily improved. The construction of teaching staff has achieved remarkable results. The ability of scientific and technological innovation has been continuously enhanced. The discipline level has been continuously rising. Foreign cooperation and exchanges have been steadily advanced, and concerted efforts have been made on the construction of "soft and hard" environment on campus. Breakthrough progress and landmark achievements demonstrated the responsibility and work of the faculty. "All the faculty are United and diligent, seeking truth and innovating together, which is the confidence and strength for us to look forward to the future, to enter into the double first-class list and build a high-level innovative university!"
The conference pointed out that the general requirements of the main work in 2024 are: adhering to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Second Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, completely, accurately and comprehensively implementing the new development concept, fully implementing the Party's educational policy, adhering to the fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue, promoting high-level science and technology, implementing the specific deployment of the provincial party committee "1310" strategy, taking the national "double first-class" construction as the goal, taking the "1 +2 +3" climbing plan discipline upgrading project as an important starting point, taking the road of connotative development, taking root in South Guangdong and striving to run a satisfactory education for the people, and contributing to building a strong country in education, science and technology and talents.
