On September 14th, GDUT invited Diao Mingsheng, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Benin, to give the first lecture in a series of lectures celebrating the 65th anniversary of GDUT.
Hu Qintai, Secretary of the GDUT Party Committee, met Diao Mingsheng in Admin Building extending a warm welcome. He introduced the leap-forward development in the past 65 years, focusing on speeding up the construction of high-level innovative universities, cultivating high-quality innovative talents, focusing on the strategic needs of the country, and contributing GDUT strength to Guangdong in promoting Chinese modernization.
Diao spoke highly of the school’s quality and achievements over the years, and said that universities play a unique and important role in cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
Later, Diao gave a special lecture to more than 500 freshmen on Chinese Wisdom in International Communication. As a veteran diplomat, he shared his years of experience in the front line of foreign work.
