From April to August 2023, the National Undergraduate Electronics Design Contest for College Students was held in Guangdong Province and the national awards were evaluated respectively. Teams，86 in all ，from School of Information Engineering, School of Automation, School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, School of Integrated Circuits, School of Electromechanical Engineering, School of Advanced Manufacturing and Department of Experimental Teaching participated in the competition. With the joint efforts of teachers and students, the school has made a new breakthrough in the event, with a total of 41 teams winning awards at the provincial level or above, including 3 first prizes and 4 second prizes at the national level, 4 first prizes, 13 second prizes and 17 third prizes in Guangdong Province, which topped all the colleges and universities in the province.
In addition，the 18th National Intelligent Vehicle Competition for College Students was held in Central South University and Tianjin University on July 15 and August 18, respectively. The university actively organized teachers and students to participate in the competition and selected 8 teams from School of Automation, School of Information Engineering and School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering to participate in the competition in different categories, and won 1 second prize in the national competition, 1 first prize, 3 second prizes and 3 third prizes in the South China competition.
