Recently, in 2023 (9th) National Statistical Modeling Competition for College Students officially announced the winners, and GDUT finally won one national second prize (the national award ratio is about 1%) and four national third prizes. In addition, GDUT students won 14 provincial first prizes, 20 provincial second prizes and 58 provincial third prizes for undergraduate students; There is one provincial first prize and one provincial third prize in the postgraduate group.
Since the start of the 2023 (9th) National Statistical Modeling Competition for College Students in February, 11,213 teams from 27 competition areas in China have submitted papers to participate in the competition. Among them, a total of 982 teams (851 undergraduates and 131 postgraduates) submitted their works to participate successfully during the preliminary competition in Guangdong Division. For the first time, the School of Mathematics and Statistics launched a series of activities to organize, train and guide students to participate in the competition, which achieved remarkable results. In the end, 187 teams (182 undergraduates and 5 postgraduates) in GDUT successfully participated in the competition, ranking first in the province.
