President Qiu Xueqing Leads Delegation to Visit Hong Kong

President Qiu Xueqing was invited to lead a delegation to visit Hong Kong from June 7 to 9 : partner universities, government departments, relevant youth organizations, and people from all walks of life who have long supported the development of GDUT. Vice President Zhang Xueli, accompanied the visit.


During his visit to cooperative universities, Qiu had in-depth exchanges with Teng Jinguang, President of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Pang Dingquan, Vice President of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Zheng Guohan, President-designate Qin Sizhao and Vice President Mo Jiahao on deepening the training of innovative and entrepreneurial talents, promoting inter-school general education exchanges between teachers and students, scientific research, achievement transformation, collaborative innovation of scientific research and jointly promoting the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area University Alliance, and reached broad consensus.



Qiu also visited relevant laboratories, teaching bases and innovation and entrepreneurship integration service centers of cooperative universities, and exchanged research and work progress in frontier fields with professionals.


During his visit, Qiu met with Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Wang Weiming, Minister of Education and Science and Technology of the Liaison Office of Hong Kong, Huang Zhiyuan, Special Assistant to the Chief Executive's Office of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and Yang Zhenglong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Youth Federation, etc., to discuss and exchange views on issues such as education and cultural exchanges, personnel training, scientific research and innovation cooperation, and coordinated development of Greater Bay Area.
