Makoto Watanabe, Vice President of Chiba University Pays a Visit to GDUT

Prof. Makoto Watanabe ,Vice President of Chiba Universityand two other colleagues visit the University on the afternoon of April 28th. Representatives from International Office and the School of Arts and Design welcome the guests and have an in-depth exchanges on international cooperation in education, teaching, and research.


At the meeting, Mr. Luo Shengjing, Executive Dean of the School of Arts and Design introduces the school's history, characteristics, discipline construction, talent cultivation, and international exchanges and cooperation to the guests, stating that the School is one of the best design colleges in China that combines design discipline and industry. The Guangdong International Advanced Design Center, which is under construction, aims to create a highland for design innovation and hopes to establish partnerships with world-class universities to build and share together and to learn from each other. He also expressed wish to further proceed higher-level cooperation between the two universities.


Prof. Makoto Watanabe expresses his gratitude for the University’s hospitality and gives an introduction to Chiba University. He states that the School of Art and Design at GDUT has a unique philosophy of running school around strategic emerging industries, strategic industrial clusters, and strategic pillar industries, which has high exchange and learning value.


Both sides agree to jointly promote the innovative development of the design discipline in the new era, to further cooperation in international exchanges especially in research cooperation, teaching, and talent cultivation.
