The national final and the finale of the fifth SFLEP Cup National College Students' Intercultural Competence Contest were held in Shanghai on February 24-26. Guangdong University of Technology sent a team of representatives including Yi Siqi (Class of 2020 Translation Major, School of Foreign Languages), Wang Luyao (Class 2021, Human Resource Management, School of Management), and Hou Changhao (Class 2021, Electronic Information, School of Information Engineering). After two rounds of fierce competition, we snatched the first prize in the finale, wining the tickets for the intercultural summer camp of Shanghai International Studies University.
Directed by China Education Association for International Exchange, hosted by Shanghai International Studies University, and undertaken by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press, the national final and the finale of the fifth SFLEP Cup National College Students' Intercultural Competence Contest has attracted nearly 500 teams from all over the country. Forty teams of Chinese students and 4 teams of international students made it to the finals. The contest consists of five links: intercultural case development & analysis, interpretation of famous sayings, knowledge quiz, opinions on scenarios, and telling China’s stories.
