GDUTplans to recruit 9500 students, adding 5 new engineering majors and 4 innovative experimental classes
On July 20, Guangdong University ofTechnology held a press conference on 2020 enrollment . President Qiu Xueqing introduced the enrollment policy and talent cultivation of the university this year. The total enrollment plan of GDUT this year is 9500, which is basically the same as last year.
Qiu Xueqing said, "the aim of GDUT is to create better learning opportunities forthe aspiringstudents through diversified and individualized teaching, so that they can become more outstanding in all walks of life in the future." GDUT insists on integrating innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of talent training. Every year, more than 6000 students participate in high-level scientific and technological innovation and R & D. The experience and practice of GDUT won the second prize of national teaching achievements, which hasgreat influence on similar universities.
This year, five new engineering majors,such as big data management and application, artificial intelligence and robot engineering, are newly added.The five new engineering majors can meet the demand of the rapidly developing Guangdong industrial market. They provide the important discipline support forGDUT to continuously adjust and create hot majors and cultivate high-quality engineering and technical talents in the face of the national strategic emerging industries and the development strategy of Greater BayArea.
Li Lijuan, director of the Academic Affairs Office of GDUT, told reporters that the newly added robotics engineering major (run by theSchool of Automation) and the artificial intelligence (run by the School of ComputerScience) will select students from multipleschools inGDUT after the freshmen enter the University. Students can not only study in this major, but also take courses related to robot engineering and artificial intelligence, so as to meet the needs of the society for high-quality talents.
