On March 27, President Qiu Xueqing met with Wu Xiaoli, deputy director of Phoenix Satellite TV and famous news anchor, in Guangzhou. Luan Tiangang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the school, and Zhang Xueli, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and deputy cadre of GDUT, attended the meeting.
Qiu Xueqing first expressed his gratitude to Wu Xiaoli for her concern for the development of GDUTl. Then, he introduced the latest progress in the aspects of faculty cultivation, discipline construction, talents training, the innovation and entrepreneurship and so on. It is hoped that through the exchange, GDUT can expand cooperation with Ms. Wu and other relevant institutions in various ways, and build Guangdong University of Technology into a high-level university with worldwide influence in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Wu Xiaoli said that as a member of the bay area, she has been committed to the construction of the Greater Bay area, and has founded the "Shenzhen Bay Area Women’s Development and Research Institute". Through this meeting, she has deepened her understanding of GDUT, and will promote the integration of GDUT into the Greater Bay Area construction in an appropriate way.
