At the beginning the 14th Five-Year Plan and advancing the development of the Greater Bay Area, the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee awarded the builders of the Dongjiang-Shenzhen Water Supply Project the title of “Role Model of the times”, praising them as “a glorious team for building and protecting the lifeline of Hong Kong’s water supply”, calling on the whole society to learn from them.
At the launching ceremony of “Role Model of the Times” broadcast on CCTV 1, GDUT alumni Chen Shaojuan, Fu Tianyi and He Ailun, who had participated in the construction of the Dongjiang-Shenzhen Water Supply Project , were awarded the honorary title.
