On the afternoon of December 16, the 2021 Guangdong College Students and Japanese Enterprises Exchange meeting with the theme of "Efforts Made by Chinese and Japanese Enterprises to Deal with Climate Change" was held online. Zeng Xuelan, professor of the Institute of Environmental and Ecological Engineering and director of the Research Center for Coping with Climate Change of GDUT, was invited to attend and give a speech on behalf of China. 17 students of the Japanese Department of the School of Foreign Languages and about 60 young students from Jinan University and South China Normal University disscussed with Chinese and Japanese experts online.
The exchange was jointly sponsored by Guangdong Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Japan Economic Broadcasting Center, and strongly supported by Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. Chen Guangjun, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and vice president of the Guangdong Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Liang Watanabe, special director and director of the Japan Economic Broadcasting Center, attended the event and delivered a speech.
By introducing the efforts made by Chinese and Japanese societies and enterprises to realize the green and low-carbon development of the earth, this exchange meeting enhanced the understanding of environmental protection between both sides, publicized the concept of green life and advocated low-carbon behavior to the teenagers, and made positive contributions to promoting the friendly exchanges between the two countries.
