Guangdong University of Technology and Huawei Technologies jointly launched the signing and unveiling ceremony of the first “HUAWEI Kunpeng & Ascend Developers’ Club” in China on September 16th, at the arc lecture hall in the school’s University Town campus. The two parties signed the cooperation agreement before unveiling the Club. President Qiu Xueqing, Vice President Zhang Xueli, Jiang Tao, VP of Computing Products of Huawei, and Chen Chao, VP of Computing Business of Kunpeng, attended the ceremony, joined by more than 300 representatives from relevant divisions, teachers, and students. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang, and a side venue was set up in the Jieyang campus.

GDUT and Huawei are deeply connected when it comes to the integration of industry and education. As early as 2020, our school became the first batch of 72 contracted universities in China under the “Smart Base” program initiated by the Ministry of Education and Huawei. We are now grown to be a demonstration project of the Huawei “Smart Base” program across higher education institutions.
