US News released the 2023 Best Global Universities rankings on October 25, covering 85 countries and more than 40 academic fields. A total of 382 universities in China were listed, including 338 in Chinese mainland, 7 in Hong Kong, 2 in Macao, and 35 in Taiwan. The overall ranking of Chinese universities has moved up compared with last year’s.
Since 2018 when Guangdong University of Technology first entered the rankings, it has made steady progress, currently at 68th in mainland, up 51 spots since the first entry; Globally, it ranks 653rd, an increase of 554 from 1207th in 2018.
