The final of the 8th China International Internet Plus Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for University and College Students came to an end on November 13th. Twelve projects from Guangdong University of Technology advanced to the national level and nine were in the live final (most finalists in the province). With 2 gold awards, 7 silvers and 3 bronzes, participants have set a new record for the school's performance. The number of gold ranked 2nd among universities in Guangdong (top 1 among provincial universities). The final was held online amid Covid-19, joined by 1,128 teams from universities at home and abroad for this event on innovation and entrepreneurship.
GDUT has long valued the Internet Plus competition through organization and project cultivation, setting up a dedicated organizing committee and formulated reward standards for such high-level innovation and entrepreneurship competitions. Since its kick-off in December last year, school leaders including Hu Qintai, Secretary of School Party Committee, Qiu Xueqing, President, and Chen Zhuowu, Vice President, have shown enormous attention to relevant organization and project fostering.
