The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance Annual Meeting and President Forum 2022 was held last Friday afternoon (November 25) at the University of Macau virtually and offline. President Qiu Xueqing was invited to attend, joined by heads from the School Party Committee, Principal’s Office, and Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs.
President Qiu gave an online speech entitled Strengthening Synergy to Build Talent Hubs at a relevant sub-forum, introducing GDUT’s progress in fostering engineering talents from three respects: serving the country’s major strategic needs, innovation and entrepreneurship education, and school-level exchanges among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
The event was attended by leaders from relevant government bodies such as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Education, Liaison Office of the People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR, Liaison Office of the People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Education Department of Guangdong Province, Education Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR, and Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR, as well as nearly 200 principals and heads of departments from 42 member universities in the area. Our school will seize the strategic opportunity of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao GBA to boost communication and cooperation under the framework of the University Alliance.
