Personal Description

Sai Liang, B.S. and Ph.D. from Tsinghua University, is a Distinguished Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor of the "Hundred Talents Program" of Guangdong University of Technology, a young talent of the National Overseas High-Level Talent Introduction Program, and the Executive Director of the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education for Urban Environmental Security and Green Development in the Greater Bay Area. He is engaged in teaching and research in the field of environmental system analysis, focusing on the coupled simulation analysis of socio-economic and eco-environmental processes, identifying the key factors affecting eco-environmental issues in socio-economic systems from multiple perspectives, and providing multi-perspective and multi-process scientific support for policy decisions to reduce environmental impacts. He has chaired the project of National Natural Science Foundation of China and the sub-project of Guangdong Province "Pearl River Talent Program" to introduce innovation and entrepreneurial team. He has published more than 140 papers in Nature, Cell, and Environmental Science & Technology, the top environmental journal. He has been awarded the second prize of the 14th Excellent Achievement Award of Philosophy and Social Sciences in Beijing, the Young Scholar Award of Zijin Quanxing Environmental Foundation of Nanjing University, the Outstanding Review Award of Environmental Science & Technology 2020, and the Best Paper Award of the Chinese Society of Industrial Ecology, etc. He has been selected as one of the top 100,000 scientists in the world for two consecutive years from 2021 to 2022.
