Applications of advanced oxidation processes, especially Heterogeneous Environmental Catalysis in organics degradation and biohazard inactivation in water and air.

Prof. An was selected as most cited Chinese authors in Environmental Sciences by Elsevier’s Scopus from 2014 to 2019 with continuous six years. He is winner of NSF for Distinguished Young Scholars in China, Distinguished Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars of MOE, Ten thousand plan leading talents of CPC Central Committee, Science and technology leading talents of Ministry of Science and Technology as well as the Pearl River Scholars Program of Guangdong Province, Outstanding Talents Scientist and Innovation Leading Scientist of Guangdong Special Branch Plan of Science and Technology and Young Scientist Winner of Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment. He also won the May 1st Labor Medal of Guangdong Province in April 2019 and the National Model Teacher in September 2019.

He has long been engaged in research work on environmental geochemical processes and health effects, photochemical and photocatalytic migration, transformation and risk reduction mechanisms of emerging organic pollutants, mainly focusing on environmental catalytic purification and pollution control principles and regional health risk reduction related to environmental water system and atmospheric toxic organics. Over 350 refereed journal publications such as PNAS, Energy Environ. Sci., Environ. Sci. Technol., Appl. Catal. B-Environ., J Catal., Water Res. and Environ. Sci. Nano were published, and the citation is more than 10000 times (Cited by others: 9000; H-index, 55).

Research Team

Team of Emerging Pollutants Environmental Health and Control Technology:

Students with backgrounds in environment, chemistry, biology, and materials are welcome to persue for the Master's and PhD's degree.The first-year scholarship for all recommended students is 50,000 yuan, and the recommended students from 985 universities is 80,000 yuan. Priority admission to postgraduates who are willing to directly pursue a PhD.

The team recruits post-doctors dedicated to scientific research all year round, with an annual salary of 300,000 RMB and other 3,000 RMB/month for housing grants.
