Main Achievements

He is the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the leader of The National Project 111 Talent-introducing Project. He also serves as the director of the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, the academic leader of the Innovation Team of the Ministry of Education, and the adviser to the governor of Guangdong Province on the Internet of Things. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published 124 papers on SCI, including 68 long articles in IEEE Transactions, and 10 highly cited papers on ESI. He has been awarded with 62 national invention patents and 8 overseas invention patents. He has led the formulation of three national standards for digital home network. As the first accomplisher, he has won the Second Prize of National Natural Science and 7 first prizes of Provincial, Ministerial Award for science and technology. He was the recipient of Guangdong Inventor Award and National Advanced Worker of Science and Technology.

A number of original theoretical achievements have been made: 1) The Stone conjecture of blind signal processing has been proved, which lays a theoretical foundation for the blind separation theory based on time structure; 2) A new theory of k-value estimation for the number of categories in cluster analysis is established, improving the whole theoretical framework of probability cluster analysis. 3) A new mathematical formula of matrix theory is found and proved (which has been included in the international matrix theory reference book), on which the strict theoretical basis of adaptive underdetermined blind separation method is improved. The achievements have been highly praised by 16 foreign academicians of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, like Mats, and 56 IEEE fellows.

The theoretical achievements have been applied to many fields of the Internet of Things. Firstly, with blind separation technology as the core, a new type of fetal electrocardiograph was developed and popularized in enterprises such as Libang in Shenzhen and Bao Laite in Guangdong. Secondly, the intelligent container security monitoring system based on multi-sensor fusion is built to guarantee the "Belt and Road " logistics security in "Sino-European" shipping and Chongqing–Xinjiang–Europe Railway. It has generated more than 10 billion yuan of economic benefits.

Reserch Team

There are 42 members in the intelligence information processing team currently. In addition to actively tapping internal potentials and cultivating young teachers, the team also actively introduces talents. In the team, each teacher focuses on different research area, and can find his or her own position in the team, forming a strong joint force. In recent years, we have made extensive contacts with outstanding young talents who have studied and exchanged abroad, and invited them back to China to join the team. So far, 8 outstanding doctors have returned from overseas to join the team. The "Intelligent Information Processing and System Integration of the Internet of Things" project was supported by the "Innovation Team Development Plan" of the Ministry of Education in 2013. In 2014, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as the "Joint Laboratory for International Cooperation on Intelligent Information Processing and System Integration of the Internet of Things". In 2015, the team applied for the first national intelligent manufacturing pilot and demonstration Base of "Made in China 2025" and was approved. In 2017, it won the national "111 Plan Talent Introduction Base". In recent years, The team as the main force has made great progress in both Control Science and Engineering and Internet of Things majors. The subject of automation rose from 42nd to 18th in China, and the Internet of Things rose from 34th to 8th in China.
