Personal Introduction

Chen Xin, male, born in February, 1960, member of the Communist Party of China, is the former chairman of university council, professor and doctoral tutor of Guangdong University of Technology.

In 1982, he graduated from Changsha Railway College and obtained his bachelor degree. From February 1982 to August 1992, he worked in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Zhongnan Forestry College. From 1985 to 1988, he studied at Harbin University of Technology in mechanical manufacturing and obtained his master's degree. He was promoted as associate professor in June 1992. He graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1995 with a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering. From March 1995 to May 2008, he started to work at Guangdong University of Technology. He was promoted as professor in December 1997 and dean of School of Electromechanical Engineering since December 1999. He served as vice president of Guangdong University of Technology since August 2003. From May 2008 to September 2010, he served as a member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Guangdong Science and Technology Department.From September 2010 to December 2019, he served as the president of GDUT.

He served as the deputy chairman of the National Industrial Engineering Society, the executive director of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, the vice chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Association, the leader of the Guangdong manufacturing information technology expert group, the leader of the Guangdong "CNC Generation" expert group, and a member of the Editorial Board of China Mechanical Engineering and Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering.

He is loyal to his faith and his country and delicate his whole career to the science and education development of China for more than 20 years. Under his leadership, the department of mechanical engineering has become a discipline with first-level doctoral program, a national local joint engineering laboratory and a key laboratory of the Ministry of Education.

He also has fruitful academic achievements: as the first accomplisher, he has won the second prize of National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology, the second prize of National Scientific and Technological Invention, 5 first prizes of provincial science and technology award, 3 national patent awards for invention ,2 grand prizes of Guangdong province patents ,2 second prize of national teaching achievements. 3 monographs and more than 200 papers was published, with more than 60 SCI papers; more than 100 patent inventions was authorized (US and Japan: 6, PCT: 8). In precision electronic manufacturing equipment and related fields, Professor Chen Xin enjoys a high international academic reputation. The establishment of the Ministry of Education key laboratory and state-level incubator led by him is evaluated as Excellent for three consecutive years. He has won the titles of "Ding Ying Science and Technology Award "," National Model Teacher ","Candidate of National New Century Hundred Million Talent Project "," Southern Guangdong Hundred Talents"," National Innovation Award for Excellence" and so on. He has tutored more than 90 postgraduate students. Most of his students have become university professors, Ph.D supervisor and technical director of leading enterprises.

1. In 2014, the second prize of National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology, the key technology and application of the core equipment packaged in semiconductor devices;

2. In 2019, the second prize of National Scientific and Technological Invention, the key technology and typical application of high speed and high precision point operation of high-end electronic manufacturing equipment won the second prize of the National Technology Invention Award;

3. In 2018, the first prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, high-end electronic substrate multi-variety high-precision high-efficiency manufacturing core equipment, key technology and system integration;
