On October 13th-16th, the 22nd China University Swimming Championship (Southern Division), sponsored by China University Sports Association and executed by Swimming Branch of China University Sports Association, was held in the Swimming Pool of Olympic Sports Center in Zunyi City, Guizhou Province. The competition attracted more than 1,000 athletes and coaches from 96 universities in the southern division.
The GDUT team was composed of team leaders, coaches and 32 players, and participated in three competitions: Group A, Group C and Group D respectively. After fierce competition, GDUT won 7 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals with their excellent competitive level and excellent teamwork spirit, and broke a record. They won the Sportsmanship Award and the first place in the total score of men's Group A team for their outstanding performance, first place and third place in the total score of women's Group C and A team. The team created the best result in the history of GDUT in national swimming competition in the Southern District.
