On May 18th, the first batch of students of Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT) returned to campus. Each student received a heart-warming gift package prepared by the university, including a mask, the essential supply for epidemic prevention. On the afternoon of May 18th, the donation ceremony of Huizhuan Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd. (Huizhuan) was held at the Higher Education Mega Center campus of GDUT. Huizhuan has donated 1.5 million masks to GDUT. President Qiu Xueqing, vice President Wang Chengyong, vice President Chen Zhuowu, board secretary of Huizhuan Cai Dan and marketing director of Huizhuan Lu Yanqiu attended the donation ceremony.

1.5 million masks were donated to GDUT, enough to provide two weeks’ protection for all the teachers and students.

To support the teachers and students of GDUT to protect themselves from the COVID-19 after returning to campus, Huizhuan and the ultrasonic-manufacture engineering research center jointly established by Huizhuan and GDUT decided in April, that they would invest 2 million RMB to purchase 1.5 million disposable face masks (in line with national standards) and donate them to GDUT for epidemic prevention. There are more than 47,000 full-time students and staff in GDUT, therefore, if calculated with 2 masks per person per day, the donated masks would be enough for more than 2 weeks. The donation was made in three batches: 0.35 million, 0.45 million and 0.7 million masks were delivered on April 20th, May 7th and May 16th, respectively.

On behalf of all the teachers, students and staff of GDUT, Qiu Xueqing expressed sincere gratitude to HuiZhuan as the donation of masks would provide great support for the epidemic prevention of GDUT after the teachers and students return to campus.
