On May 8th, Elsevier, the academic publishing giant, officially released the list of Chinese most cited researchers in 2019 which is the sixth time Elsevier has officially released it since 2015. This year, 2163 scholars from 242 universities, research institutions and enterprises were selected. The list includes 38 different disciplines, including 92 highly cited researchers in environmental science. Professor AN Taicheng of GDUT has been selected into the list for 6 consecutive years, and it is also the first time to be selected on behalf of Guangdong University of Technology. With China's increasing influence in the field of international scientific research, outstanding researchers in various fields leading the global academic progress are also emerging.
