The May 12 strong quake jolted Wenchuan, China, claiming thousands of lives. The loss from the devastating earthquake was a tragedy for all concerned. International students in GDUT also made donations to the quake-hit region at a donating ceremony organized by the University Foreign Affairs Office, an expression of their concern, love and support for the disaster victims. The sum collected through the one-day event would be directly transferred to the quake-hit region in Sichuan through the Guangdong Charity Federation.
Shortly after the hazard, the University's overseas students determined to make a contribution to the relief effort. They expressed their concerns and support by praying, donating blood, money as well as daily living materials. Organizers said that their acts not only demonstrates great humanitarian spirit, but also reveals the International students' affection toward the Chinese people |
